What is Flash and HTML5?

We started developing My American Farm way back in 2013 and since then a lot has changed in the world of computer games. Most of the games on this site were built using a development tool called Adobe Flash, which was a lot of fun while it lasted, but today it's not very well supported on most computers. In December of 2020 Adobe Flash will officially have reached "end of life" which means it won't be updated anymore.

Fortunately, we also developed all of the games on this site in HTML5. That means they don't need a special "plug-in" or software download for them to work. If you have an up-to-date browser, all of the games on this site should be good to go. We're happy to report that My American Farm will continue to offer education and fun well into the future.

Play Games Offline with Kiosk

In 2016 we rolled out a kiosk version of My American Farm which made it possible to play all of the games on your computer without an internet connection. The Kiosk was also developed using Flash and it still available for download. This version should work on your computer if you have Flash already installed. However, as time goes by it will be less and less likely to work on up-to-date computers.

My American Farm Kiosk

  • This software is distributed in Adobe Air, which is a legacy format and may not work on computers after the year 2020.
  • The kiosk files will be saved to your "Program Files" folder on a PC and to your "Applications" folder on a Mac.
  • You will need to press CTRL +K to exit the kiosk after it opens on your computer.
  • A report will be sent to the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture indicating the number of games played from the kiosk program when connected to the internet. This helps us improve games and keep My American Farm free!
